Sha Tou Kok Oven Gloves

This pair of padded heat resistant gloves for kitchen use is decorated on both sides with my watercolour sketch of Sha Tou Kok.

Sha Tau Kok is Hong Kong's northernmost town and shares a boundary with Shenzhen's Yantian District. For decades, it has been a part of the Frontier Closed Area, meaning access was tightly controlled and off-limits to non-residents. Nowadays with a proper permit, non-residents may visit the town.
